ACES stands for Academic and Creative Enrichment for Students! More About ACES...
I understand that your child comes to me with unique experiences, interests, and an individual learning style. My goal is to know your child well, and use this knowledge to guide, support and motivate him/her.
One aspect of teaching gifted children that is often overlooked is their social/emotional needs. With all their blessings, gifted students often have to deal with perfectionism, anxiety about fitting in, problems communicating with peers, and more. Part of my job is to provide a safe learning environment for students in which making mistakes is acceptable. Also, many gifted learners have trouble working together in groups, so we will focus on developing leadership skills, and learning how to delegate jobs, compromise, and stay on-task during group work.

In ACES your child will…
- Conduct thoughtful research and exploration in multiple fields and disciplines.
- Think creatively and critically to identify and solve real-world problems.
- Develop and deliver a variety of authentic products and performances that demonstrate understanding in multiple fields and disciplines.
- Assume leadership and participatory roles in cooperative learning situations.
More About ACES...
- ACES is not a privilege nor an optional activity. ACES brings opportunities for challenge - something many gifted children have not experienced because everything has been easy in school to this point. In ACES, your child will be taught not to avoid challenges, but to persevere when things get difficult.
- Responsibility is as important as knowledge. In ACES, your child will be assisted in improving organizational skills.
- Though our studies are themed and guided, ACES is designed to cover a broad range of skills and content and allow ample exploration in areas of individual interest.
- Gifted children have unique social and emotional traits that influence their life experiences. ACES will help your child explore their giftedness, develop resiliency, manage their intensities, face adversities and tough situations, and cultivate their talents and passions.
